After talking to citizens in Rijeka, Varaždin and Split, CROSOL continued its Croatian EU Presidency consultations in Osijek – a city located in eastern part of the country. The consultations were conducted in co-operation with the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, and Center for Peace, Non-violence and Human Rights Osijek – a local CSO. This region was heavily affected by the war in 1991 – 1995, and the recommendations from the citizens were influenced by this fact. They asked if there is a possibility for a stronger peacebuilding component to be included on the EU agenda during the Croatian Presidency.

After Rijeka, Varaždin and Split, we have visited city of Osijek in eastern part of Croatia to talk with the citizens about presidency prirorites. The consultations were conducted in co-operation with the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and local peace group Center for Peace, Non-violence and Human Rights. Since this erea was heavily demaged during the war in Croatia 1990 -1995, many recommendations from the citizens were directed towards the stronger peacebuilding componenet of EU and opportunities for Croatia to place peacebuilding on EU agenda.
