Members of CROSOL held a strategic meeting in Zagreb to define how to collaborate on the EU Presidency Project and to join synergies and activities. In 2020 Croatia will preside the EU Council for the first time. This is a challenge for the government but also for national CSOs. In the forthcoming period CSOs will work on defining the CSOs’ and citizen’s priorities for the presidency. In a first internal discussion, CSOs emphasised three draft priorities:
- Shrinking civic space
- EU values,
- EU enlargement and Agenda 2030
Those priorities will be discussed with the citizens and other CSOs across Croatia to come to more concrete demands. CSOs will also monitor the EU and national government preparations for the presidency.
